Wow! The last seven weeks in school have been some of the most challenging weeks I have ever had in education, but also some of the most rewarding. We have made many changes at school - from year group bubbles to changes in tutor groups and many in between. The staff and students have embraced these changes whole-heartedly and this has led to a successful start back. Staff are working incredibly hard, moving classrooms every lesson to limit student movement, ensuring students who are isolating have work on google classroom and making students feel safe and welcome.
Students have come back to school with a great attitude to their learning. I walk around school and witness classroom vibrant once more with students engaging in their learning and listening attentively to their teachers who are experts in their areas.
Break and lunchtimes are calm and settled and football on the courts is helping students to burn off some of their energy! The new 3G pitch is incredible, what a facility for our community! The students are really enjoying this new facility. We have just had the main sports hall handed over to us and I am sure in the winter months to come this will prove an invaluable resource.
As we approach the half term holidays I hope that we all remain as safe as we can and that everyone has a well deserved rest and comes back in November ready to start again. I thank all our students, staff and parents for their support and determination to ensure the full reopening of education in our school has been successful amid the challenges we all face.
