Post 16 Overview

Outwood Academy Easingwold Post 16 aims for the highest standards in academic and personal achievement.

We provide high quality learning experiences for all students to ensure that academic progress is excellent across all subjects. We work closely with our students to ensure that they achieve their academic goals whilst also supporting the personal development of each individual. We are extremely proud that significant numbers of our students go on to study at prestigious universities. We provide students with opportunities to visit universities as well as to meet professional guest speakers. Information, advice and guidance to students is provided, one hour per week, in a lesson of Guidance. Within these lessons students are encouraged to explore careers and make important decisions about their future. They receive a Praising Stars report every 6 weeks to update parents on their progress.

We offer a broad and balanced academic curriculum to ensure students can study the subjects required to move on to further education and employment. Students can study 3 or 4 subjects in Sixth Form. Additionally all students who have not achieved a GCSE grade C in maths or English are required to study these subjects to gain these qualifications.
Dress code is business dress for all students and we ask students to remain on site during free study lessons to allow staff to meet with them and support to be offered.

As part of the Government’s strategy to support catchup for disadvantaged students following the Covid-19 pandemic, we were in receipt of £230 of additional 16-19 funding. This money is being used to purchase additional resources to support students in their Level 3 courses. We continue to closely monitor the impact of the pandemic on our disadvantaged students and provide additional resources and intervention accordingly.
