Firstly, I would like to say a big thank you and well done to all the students who took part in Covid-19 testing as we returned to school in March.  The uptake for testing was very high and the students conducted themselves impeccably throughout the whole process!  I hope that home testing is going well and that everyone is managing to complete tests twice a week.

The return back to school following the Easter holidays has been a very good one.  Y13, Y11, Y12 and Y10 have been  absolutely incredible and have been working hard so that teachers can gather evidence for the teacher assessed grades.  Well done!  All year groups have settled well and are back into the routine of learning.

As you know, we took part in a pilot Ofsted inspection last week.  This was a really useful experience for both us and the inspection team.  As I mentioned in my letter to parents and carers, the Inspectors did not give us a judgement, but we did receive some fantastic informal feedback.  The feedback has given staff great confidence moving forwards and we are definitely in a good place for a subsequent inspection.  The feedback on our students was amazing - the inspectors found students to be polite, courteous, respectful and above all tolerant.  I am really proud of all of them.

The KS3 inter-form rounders tournament that has been taking place after school has been great to see.  Such a fantastic turnout with some very stiff competition.  The form tutors have been supporting their students with great zest!  Well done to all who have taken part.  It has been so lovely to see some normality creeping back into school.

I hope you all enjoy the bank holiday weekend and keep safe.  Please remember to inform us if your child or any family member tests positive for Covid-19 or if any student develops symptoms.

I hope you all keep well.
